According to various sports news outlet in England monitored, Anglo Nigerian Arsenal teen striker, Chuba Akpom has agreed a fresh four-and-half-year deal with the Gunners.

Following the departure of Lukas Poldoski, Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell, Akpom moved up the pecking order and has so far featured in Arsenal’s last two games including winning a penalty for the Gunners’ fourth goal in their 5-0 win over Aston Villa last weekend.

Akpom’s contract was due to run out this summer alerting clubs outside England notably Borrussia Dortmund, FC Twente and Red Bull Salzburg but they failed to convince the 19-year-old to agree a pre-contract as he opted to remain with Arsenal after crunch talk with manager, Arsene Wenger.

His new deal will terminate in the 2018-19 season and it is reportedly the biggest financial package ever offered to any player of Akpom’s age and status at the club.

He joined Arsenal at the age of six in 2002 and made his debut for the Under-18s aged 15.

Presently he holds the record as Arsenal’s fastest player over 10 metres and last season scored 15 times in 23 games for Arsenal Reserves.
