Adesiyan flays Gaidam over comments on PDP
Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, has berated the Yobe State governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam, over his recent comments on the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the governor’s remarks as unfortunate, sad and uncouth.
Gaidam had reportedly alleged that the problems which retarded the development of the country and the realisation of her dreams were traceable to the misrule of the PDP, saying that the party was on the verge of collapse.
But Adesiyan, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Wale Akinola, said the governor’s comments lacked logic in its entirety and aimed at inciting the general public against the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration, which according to him was the hallmark of the opposition, All Progressive Congress (APC).
He said, “The comments of the governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam about the ruling PDP, calls for concern by all patriotic Nigerians. For the avoidance of doubt and at the risk of repetitiveness, it is noteworthy to state that in spite of what Gaidam and APC will want the Nigerian people to believe, the PDP will not relent from its promise to make life bearable for the entire citizenry.
“It is not surprising that by the statement, the governor has re-echoed his party’s desperation to bullishly acquire power by all means and at all cost, including mindless precipitation of anarchy, disaffection and break down of public order which is the driving force behind their incessant, irresponsible and unpatriotic politics of hate and deceit and their high propensity to fan the embers of national discord, disunity and social disorder,” he said.
